Disclaimer: I'm just starting with Android.

I'm using Eclipse with the Android development tools. When I add a
Chronometer to my layout xml, either by typing it, pasting it from an
online example, or using the widget to add a new element, the Layout
view breaks: When I switch to the layout view it only shows
"NullPointerException: null" where the preview should be. I've tried
adding and removing various valid attributes, but nothing works.
Running the app shows the chronometer, but considering my app will
have a dozen or more on screen at once, I could really use the layout
preview. I suspect a bug in the tools. Anyone else seen this? Is there
a workaround?
