You'd have to ask TMobile if they can unlock the phone. I imagine if they unlock the phone, and you popped the ATTM SIM in, I assume you'd be able to get a signal on 2.5G (EDGE).
At that point you're using the G1 on ATTM's network, and I'm not real sure of the volume of data that you're transferring/receiving with this phone. I don't know ATTM's data plans, but if the G1 has an unusually high amount of data being sent to and from the phone, you could go over your limit and have a pretty hefty bill. I would think ATTM has some sort of similar unlimited data package as TMobile does. Hope this helps.
