In the Reference it sounds like onNewIntent() doesn't apply to the singleTask launch mode. Good thing I tried it anyway (dumping results from a search query back into my main activity without starting a new one, basically populating a text box with Ids from a find-as-you-type system) but others may not be so adventurous.
Bottom line: could whoever maintains the Android SDK documentation fix the method description to accurately describe which contexts it's useful for?
