Sreehari, OCR is not really an Android topic, I'd be surprised if anyone had any out-of-the-box sample code you could just use.
One relatively straight-forward solution might be to use an OCR Web service to convert your images. A quick search brings up: http://www.ocrwebservice.com/, which has a 30 day free trial. Have a look around for other options, but you'll probably find scanning on the device very time consuming.
