The best Java tutorials are the Sun "The Java Tutorials" on the internet. Since Android uses the Java programming language but uses a different virtual machine, you can overlook some of the "JVM"-related comments in the tutorials but programming is the same in every language, so what you learn in Java, you can "translate" over to any other language, and develop in that also.
