OK, just getting my feet wet (40 years of programming experience with
15 years Java, & 6 months Qt on Nokia, but new to Android).

I spared you folks the befuddlement over the "Waiting for emulator to
start" hang (antivirus) and "Starting: Intent" hang (gotta push the
right buttons) , and I'm actually getting output. But what I have in
my source file (HelloMars) is

tv.setText("Hello to all Martians. We come in peace! (Fingers
crossed)");

What I'm getting is a title "Hello to Martians!" (the app name I gave
the project) and the line ""Hello World, HelloMars!".

This I find to be bizarre. Even if I accidentally picked up a
HelloWorld from elsewhere (which is very unlikely), I don't see how it
would produce that output, and it's even less likely that there's a
"HelloMars" app floating around somewhere (especially one with the
"org.danhicks" prefix).

Any ideas??
