This is a great reference, I hope the OP appreciates it as much as I do. But I have to comment: I would never have thought of using the query "negative margin" to find this. After all: until I read the thread, I did not realize that negative margins result in "undefined behavior", though once pointed out, it seems natural that "negative margin" is an oxymoron.
So the OP should not use negative margins in the first place, nor rely on broken behavior of previous versions of Android.
