I think ideally support would be handled directly in the app - this is
something I really want to get to. A support Activity, if you will, where
the user can email you, request features, report issues, view faqs, and
maybe enable logging and help you debug stuff. Right in the app so the user
doesn't have to go anywhere else or do any more work. For now I just use a
Google Docs form for people to report bugs. Most people still email (or use
the Market comments >:O ) until I direct them there, but it gets used quite
a bit.

Yeah, the market description is a joke. You definitely need a site just to
really describe your app and list the features. Plus that's yet another way
for people to discover your app. Throw links wherever you can (like your
Google Groups signature ;-) ), set up a Google Alert for your app name, and
let the Google spider bots do their thing. You can't rely on the Market app
to help get your app noticed with the pathetic search and spam-clogged "Just
In" list. And the more you can integrate the site with the app itself (like
a "Help" button that takes you to the correct page on the site) the better,
I think.

Why thank you =) Though I can guaranteed there are better app sites around -
a web designer I am not.

However, it serves its purpose and I think has been highly beneficial in
warding those type of "what is it" or "how does it work" type questions. I
can only remember one time when someone asked for a feature and I told him
all he had to do was long-press on something. When I pointed out the online
user manual, he was very happy to see one was available.
