Hi Scott,

people here do not want to 'not lock' the device. We just don't want
it to lock immediately when the screen turns of or is being turned of.
Not locking the phone is insecure. Not providing an option to delay
the lock for a reasonable time (~5 minutes) on a phone which needs to
be locked all the time due to sensitive input (capacitive touch
screen) and high battery usage is forcing users into insecure
behavior.

To implement remote wipe and then not support it in the quasi-default
mail service - don't even get me started...
