Android has added a great deal of new framework features and operating system functionality to the base Linux kernel, and introduces new security considerations for developers building mobile applications. Our paper includes an overview of Android’s security model and offers recommendations on how to use the new Android facilities, such as BroadcastReceivers and Binder, more securely.
