Apache license != GPL

I am not sure of the exact requirements, but the apache license does
not have the same extent of requirements on derivative works or
mandate of a source code offer that the gpl does - and thats part of
why google chose it as they thought it would be a better sell with
handset manufacturers. Of course the kernel is gpl, but little of
userland is (maybe none - they have their own c library and boxed
shell)
