The same with me (IOException - service not avavilable on coder.getFromLocationName). I posted a query on the andev forum, a few people had the same problem but no solutions. I came to the conclusion that Google feel obliged to support apps on phones that exist but don't want to encourage developers to write anything else that uses their service for newer phones.
