Or you can set your default activity to be CATEGORY_INFO (instead of CATEGORY_LAUNCHER). In this way the app does not appear in the apps list, and if a user presses the "Open" button in the Market they will get to this activity.
I've done this with one of my widgets and never received any bad comments regarding this.
