Oh goodness, you are so screwed.

I screwed this up on the very first submission of my free app (didn't lose
it, but changed it unwittingly). I updated the title and description of the
old app explaining that it was obsolete and that people needed to go get the
new version.

This will of course get complicated if we're talking paid apps. You can do
the same thing and tell people that have already purchased the old one that
they'll get a refund on the old one after they've bought the new one.

Yeah ... good luck with all that. Do let us know how it all works out ...
