I'm running a test that will be completed tomorrow. I have an old app which is currently unpublished on the market. The stats for that app haven't changed for weeks. Today, I set it to publish and downloaded it to three of my test devices, then promptly unpublished it. Tomorrow I should know if the market reports three new installs and downloads. If not, then there is something wrong with the market itself.
I did this because yesterday I had nearly 6,000 downloads and my installs only went up by 500. It seems possible that 5500 people uninstalled during the same time but unlikely.
