His expression of the request was so poor, he should not be encouraged
to expect help. Besides: what he is proposing is a bad idea anyway.

It probably wouldn't hurt to review RFC2617, either. For the proposed
UI design looks like the designer does not realize that the password
must be encrypted while going over the network, verified only at the
server, with the prompt only coming as a challenge after the initial
connection attempt.

Of course, I am assuming it is HTTP redirection he is referring to as
"page redirect", but who knows?
