I love to remind people: there ARE alternatives to Google's Android
Market. My favorite two alternatives are http://slideme.org and
http://www.getjar.com. Check out their terms and see if you like them.
I particularly like that Getjar does promotion for you, even on
carrier/premium channels.

I have to admit that I haven't checked out their payment systems
closely, since I have only done free apps to date. But I did notice
that SlideME handles the billing for you, and in far more countries
than Google does, since they not are tied to one system, nor to the
local carrier. Besides: the rates SlideME displays at
http://www.slideme.org/rate-schedule look pretty good, especially if
you decide to get a MasterCard from them and have payments go
automatically into that;)

Of course, the problem with all these options is that thanks to Steve
Jobs, everyone just assumes that Google Android Market is the world,
just like iTunes is for the iPhone. So none of these alternatives give
your product the exposure that Google's Android Market does.
