Hmm, but for a tablet, you can actually have such a selector. I don't know right now if it is possible or not. May be someone else would like to comment on this. I will try to cook up something and let you know.
Scrolling by page or item is probably not the issue, but I am not very sure if you can actually handle click events on the scoller images.
