I have noticed that too but the solution is rather simple, logcat in eclipse only shows messages from one device. It sometimes "forgets" to show you the real device and shows you the emulator even if it is not running. Activate the DDMS perspective in eclipse. Select the device on the left side. Now you should see the log.
