I created the following color state list in res/color/ textcolorstatelist.xml:
<selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android";> <item android:state_selected="true" android:color="#FFFFFFFF"/> <item android:state_selected="false" android:color="#FFFFFFFF"/> </selector> And set the text view like this: textView.setTextColor(R.color.textcolorstatelist); Now the text draws in black whether selected or not.
