I face the same issue with Arabic. Even with Froyo (2.2) that embed
Arabic font, characters are not connected. I don't know Arabic but a
colleague say that at least this is possible to read what is written.
With Khmer language this is impossible to display correct characters

If any Google member have good news about font and characters
rendering on Android I am interested in.
