I've tried dozens of times to download "SDK Platform Android 2.2, API 8, revision 2" with absolutely no luck. I have no ability to change proxy settings or even disable antivirus (as other sites have suggested). On the other hand, I can directly download the zip files using firefox with no problem at all from http://dl.google.com/android/repository/android-2.2_r02-windows.zip.
