Can you be a bit more specific? Do you want to read a file, like launching an mp3 or showing a picture from /data or /sdcard, or do you want to review what's in those files?
If you wish to review what's in there, I recommend you go have a look to this tutorial on the anddev.com website : http://www.anddev.org/building_an_android_filebrowser_list-based_-t67.html Or if you just want to check without programming, use the file explorer in Eclipse.
