I just downloaded the file and loaded it into DrawNinePatch. It looked fine in the preview, when stretched either vertically or horizontally.

Are you putting the file into the right alternate resource folder? I.e. "drawable-hdpi", etc.? What is your device's resolution?

    Did you mark the stretchable regions correctly?
    Did you see in the tool itself your PNG correctly stretched?
    Any chance of you pasting that image somewhere for people to look at?
