Once they figure out how to long press the search button, they'd be given the option to choose which action to take - voice search or the OP's app - and can decide for themselves. The beauty of Android is the user has the ability to replace or augment nearly all facets of the system with customized apps. Without knowing what he's got planned, there's certainly a possibility that the user would want to use his app in this fashion instead.
