Most tags will already be written, thats kind of what they are supposed to be. They are static-unique identifiers. I think you can get writable ones, but that's not usually the kind of application you would be writing unless you have a very specific niche.
For tags to test with, you can get a fairly cool DIY kit from TouchTag. They want you to use their software with it, but the fact is that the reader can be read with a simple shell script on most *nix based machines (I've done it on my Macbook Pro a few times). Anyway, the kit comes with several tags you can use as well as a reader for experimenting, but I think you can simply buy a bunch of tags as well. Note: since I'm in Canada and can't get a Nexus S, I don't know yet if it can read touchtags, however the tags are fairly standard and the NFC on the phone supports the two common standards so I assume it will work. See: http://www.touchatag.com/e-store Ask me again when I can get a Nexus S in Canada :) I'll be doing development with it as soon as I get it, for a real world app and I'll be able to tell you if it works. - Brill Pappin On Dec 20, 12:07 pm, Vincenzo Manzoni <[email protected]> wrote: > I am interested as well. > So far, I found only websites that sell hundreds of tags, already > written. > > On 18 Dic, 09:41, Ted <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > > > > > I'd like to buy some NFC tags for use with the Nexus S / Android 2.3. > > Anyone know where I can fin such things? > > > What I'm hoping for is a way to purchase some number of tags (~100) and some > > way of writing to those tags from a mac. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
