Oh, forgot to mention, before you use setPreviewFormat, use getSupportedPreviewFormats() method to determine whether your phone camera supports ImageFormat.JPEG or not. http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/Camera.Parameters.html#getSupportedPreviewFormats()
