I totally agree with people who say that it should only be a warning, not an error. People at Google must be out of their mind. Sure positional arguments are a good idea for translations but to suddenly *force* you to use them is tyrannical, it's like killing you for your own good!
I was aware of the positional problem and it the rare cases it mattered I used java.text.MessageFormat instead of String.format. I updated the SDK to 8 and now suddenly everything is fucked up. I have an app with 14 translations and another with 5 translations, and before I can get back to be able to simply compile my apps again I have to fix them all.
