Well, it wouldn't be working as a phone then. But you've got me REALLY curious about what you're doing now. The only possibilities that have come to mind:
* Bomb trigger. But then you wouldn't be looking for a software solution, so I don't think we need to alert the authorities. :=) * Signal strength monitor, perhaps to analyze poor reception in an office building. There's an app on the market you might find interesting, called Antennas. This shows the different transmitters in your are and places them on the map. It works better with 2G than with 3G because of the quality of the data available. I don't know where their transmitter location data is coming from, but it's pretty amusing.
