Is this some sort of kiosk application, where the user doesn't own the hardware? The basic idea is to replace the stock Launcher with your own app, responding to all "Home" intents.
I just finished breaking down this kind of dumb software barrier on my e-book reader, so I could use the device for what it's capable of doing. As a consumer, I'm not sure I want to see more of this kind of thing out there on the market.
