I just started trying to navigate the source code myself, and I was quite lost in source.android.com for a long time. So I know this is old, but for the sake of the internets:
View the tree for: platform/frameworks/base.git Navigate your way to /core/java/android/ and swim around there for awhile. The stuff you're looking for should mostly be in the widget directory in there.
