Well, that path is mighty strange -- /dbdata/databases is usually /data/data on Android.
That being said, it feels like somehow your application's preference files are owned by a different Linux user than the one that is used for running your process. Do you have databases or other files in your app, and do you have any idea if they are similarly affected?
