yes it is possible, Im trying something with face recognition right now. After investigation i've seen that the Face detector wasnt enouught for what i wanted to do http://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/FaceDetector.Face.html but maybe it is ok for you. If you need something more complex like me i could recommend http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/Android
