Thanks Dianne for your reply. I'm currently using android:launchMode="singleTop" and have implemented the onNewIntent(). With that I'm also using the flag FLAG_ACTIVITY_REORDER_TO_FRONT<http://developer.android.com/reference/android/content/Intent.html#FLAG_ACTIVITY_REORDER_TO_FRONT>
