@Aleksandr: Thanks for your reply I know that it was not supported earlier but a lot changed with regards to MediaPlayer framework and there was some confusion as regards to support for HTTP Live Streaming. This little experiment was based on the claim made on the developer.android.com page: http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-3.0-highlights.html#multimedia which states: "Applications can now pass an M3U playlist URL to the media framework to begin an HTTP Live streaming session.
