Hello, I have bought recently Telechips based tablet PC with Android 2.1 and started to explore it...
It would be interesting to try different versions of Android but I don't want to mess up the original flash memory. Today I have found a fastboot tool and, as I understand, with the following command fastboot boot kernel ramdisk-image one can boot custom kernel and ramdisk without touching the device flash memory. Therefore, it is possible to create a ramdisk image which mounts specially prepared SD card with several partitions similar to the system flash. So, in this case, everything on the tablet is left untouched and any version of Android (or any other Linux) can be tested without any danger to the original system. Is it correct? If yes, are there ready to use Android builds which can be run right from sdcard? Thank you and best regards, Serguei. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
