Current PayPass cards are EMV-compliant. Therefore, you will want to use IsoDep and not NFcA/NfcB. The EMV protocol is based on APDUs (smartcard commands according to ISO/IEC 7816-4) IsoDep (although the name would suggest the Data Exchange Protocol according to ISO/IEC 18092) provides APDU-based access to the contactless smartcard (i.e. access on top of ISO/IEC 14443-4 protocol).
