I recently went through a paper titled "Smudge Attacks on Smartphone Touch Screens" by Adam J. Aviv, Katherine Gibson, Evan Mossop, Matt Blaze, and Jonathan M. Smith. The paper highlighted how android is vulnerable to smudge attacks.
I had some doubts in mind which I would like to clarify since I have limited knowledge on the subject. 1) what is the password protection scheme used in android? Is this the feature of android OS? 2) what has been the recent work done to correct this flaw? I anticipate that my queries will be answered.
