Admittedly, running the emulator with -help suggested that the flag
had been changed from -audio-in to -audio.  Implementing that change
seems to have fixed the problem.

Are these kinds of version-dependent changes documented?  I'm sure I
missed something obvious, but it didn't show up on the relevant
developer webpages.  For example, the following webpage doesn't say
that audio-in is no longer supported, it still lists it as a valid
option:

Anyway, false alarm.
