All you need is an instance of a Context (Application, Service, or
Activity) to start an activity.  If it's not an Activity, the intent
that launches the activity needs to have the flag
FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK set on it.  Any class and any thread can use
the Context to start the activity.
