My application is uploading a file to a server and the progress of the upload is displayed in the notification area. I have implemented a custom expanded view for the notification area.
The way this works is that when user chooses a file, application starts a service and the service starts a asyntask to upload the file. In onProgressUpdate I am updating the progress bar. Unfortunately, the app stops responding when I start the upload. I cannot click on the notification area and my app will not respond for atleast 4 mins. The application does *not* crash and all the inputs get discarded(as seen on the log cat). I am building for sdk 11 with compatibility support for versions between 8 and 10. Is there a reason WHY the app stops responding.
