I guess I'll answer my own question. Here's the complete tag for the
receiver in the AndroidManifest.xml
<receiver android:name="NewPhotoReceiver">
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="com.android.camera.NEW_PICTURE"/>
<data android:mimeType="image/*"/>
</intent-filter>
</receiver>
Hopefully, someone else can benefit from the time I spent on this...
