Step #1: Get rid of android:process=":remote". Step #2: Double-check your LogCat. If AlarmManager (or anything) tries to broadcast an Intent that cannot be resolved, a message is logged (at warning level, IIRC). If you see it, it may help you narrow down where you are going wrong. If you do not see it, your alarm is perhaps not being scheduled.
