I tried AI out a month or so ago, and did not need to install
any driver. However, if I'm correctly parsing what you're
saying, there is one other thing you need to do....

And there it is.... Yes, it matters. Set it to "None" and it
will work for you. If I remember correctly, it took a minute or
two, but it definitely did work.
