This would start your browser with the URL. Why do you need the DefaultHttpClient if you let the browser show your php page?
Because I am logging in via a login form which is part of the app first before going to the index page and the index page needs to know that the session variables set by the login script are set but when I did it like that they weren't. It looks to me as tohough I will have to have the login form on the server
