Thanks to pointers from "Mark Murphy" I now have an applicaiton than schedules alarms and works even when the phone is asleep, using the Wake Lock.
However, if I switch the phone off and on again, the alarm is not scheduled and I then have to restart the application to reschedule the alarm. Is there any way to make the alarm persist even through a shutdown of the device?
