"+1" on the lawyers, but also, you can sign test versions of the app with your debug keystore which will have an expiration date typically <= 1 year, or even build into the testing versions of the app a timeout check which calls finish finish() your main activity if it is past a certain future date as a crude solution. This is a concern I feel in general for anyone who is giving apps to people for testing, whom they might not know or trust 100%, not just potential clients.
