Well, I will have to stand by my assertion that there is a typo. Actually more than a typo. The tutorial has you edit HelloGridView.java, but there is no such file - just HelloGridViewActivity.java. Assuming that isn't a typo, then I created the project again but with "Create Activity" unchecked. I still saw no HelloGridView.java. Things just got messier from there.
