I was afraid of that. My widgets in question are all based around a single (if composited) image which does "intrinsically have an expandable amount of content." A reasonable analogy would be Honeycomb's Picture Frame widget: not list-based, but it could easily be expandable, it would just need to zoom and/or crop.
Well, IMHO, that stinks. :^] I can just see my Market comments once 3.1 becomes widespread: "1* Would be 5* if the widgets were expandable, rather than cluttering up my widget picker with 8 different sizes."
