Since most of your work is actually done in Eclipse, which is pretty much the same on any platform (aside from obvious UI diferences) I don't think it matters much.
I use a Mac myself, and a peer I have uses Linux. However there are a few things you should consider. - If you ever want to do IOS work, then you will need a mac. period. - If you ever want to do Blackberry work, you want Windows (although apparently RIM's new tools can run on a Mac, I haven't tested that). FYI - I end up doing blackberry work in Windows, but running on my Mac as a dual boot (Boot Camp for macheads). I've tried using VMWare on the mac for blackberry development, which was doable, but I wasn't happy with the performance. You could also run Linux via dual boot or virtual machine if you wanted to. If you want to build the entire native aOS, you will need linux or a mac (but you need to set it up properly). I don't know if it will build on a windows machine. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
